Caprice des Dieux is a smooth and creamy soft–cheese with a beautiful (edible) velvety rind.

This decadent recipe composed of French milk, cream, and a pinch of salt was mastered over 50 years ago by Jean-Noël Bongrain in the small village of Illoud in Haute-Marne.

I ate this cheese daily during my month in France. Inexpensive and delicious! The French do dairy like no other and this cheese, common though it is, is just fantastic. Try it ! You will be amazed.
